Definition: This is the concept that all students get what they need to be successful. As school systems are put in place, we need to first understand the specific needs of our students and then ensure that each has those needs met. This of course means that some students will receive services and accommodations that others don’t require. Many describe educational equity as the ‘fair does not always mean equal’ premise. An equitable educational system employs methods that help all individuals achieve their potential.
