Definition: These are formal conferences that happen during school to discuss student progress in a particular class. Students review their personal learning data for a set amount of time and prepare to have a discussion about their learning. Depending on what time of year it is, the more in-depth these conversations can be. They are steeped in learning evidence and they provide students a voice and choice in how they are graded. They can also be used in lieu of traditional Parent/Teacher conferences and in this circumstance, they empower students to share learning and progress with their parents.
