At Mastery Portfolio, we believe in being thankful every day of the year, not just on Thanksgiving. However, in the holiday spirit, we took a few minutes to reflect and write down the things we are truly grateful for in 2021.
I’m grateful for the schools we serve and everything we are learning from them to be able to better serve our future school communities. I’m grateful for living our values as an organization, for honesty and self-actualization. I’m grateful for all the people who are rooting for us and for the progress of our schools. I’m grateful beyond words for my team. In my role as CEO, I wear a lot of hats, and as soon as I get good at wearing one, I pass it on to someone else. Therefore, I’m grateful for the people that don those hats, for the constant challenges that make me grow, and for the growth mindset that makes it exciting.
This year, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to develop relationships with our team at Mastery Portfolio. As I engage with the work I’m already passionate about, I’m eager to share it with our team as we continue to grow. Additionally, I appreciate the flexibility we have as a team and how easy it is to learn with each person on our team. I know I’m a better, more well-rounded person because I have the opportunity to work with everyone. Lastly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to help schools make this important change to their cultures around assessment. It is my greatest hope to help more educators truly make school about student learning success by shifting their assessment practices and I feel lucky to work for a company that shares that passion with me. –
