Definition: Curriculum maps take the guides and break them down into particular units, often including a pacing guide so teachers know approximately how much time it should take to teach a particular concept or skill. Maps are often organized by unit, essential questions, learning targets, formative and summative assessments and can even get as granular as lesson plans. The purpose of a curriculum map is to ensure equity in classes teaching the same content, skills, or level.
